Day 1: Alice Springs to Uluru & Sunset

Your Uluru 2 Day Tour from Alice Springs starts with an early pickup from your accommodation at 6:00 am. The drive south already gives you a sense of the vast desert landscape as you head toward the Red Centre.

You’ll stop at the Mt Connor lookout for your first impressive view of the flat-topped mountain often mistaken for Uluru, then continue to Curtin Springs for a quick break. Lunch is served at the private Ayers Rock Campground where you set up for the night.

In the afternoon you visit the Cultural Centre to learn about Anangu culture and connection to the land. From there you walk to the Mutitjulu Waterhole and see ancient rock art before exploring Kantju Gorge. The day finishes with a classic Uluru sunset from the dedicated lookout – a moment that stays with you long after the colours fade.

Day 2: Kata Tjuta Sunrise & Hike

You’ll hike either the Valley of the Winds or Walpa Gorge trail, both offering dramatic views through the rock formations. After the walk you return to Yulara for lunch before the tour concludes.

Tents and swags are shared. Facilities are communal.

Are meals suitable for dietary needs?

Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?
No – bedding is provided in the tents. Bush swag users can hire a sleeping bag for $40.

What happens if I join from Uluru?
Pickup is after lunch at Ayers Rock Campground or your accommodation. Lunch on Day 1 is not included for Uluru starters.

What is the drop-off location?
